Feature Spotlight: Cutouts

These cutouts serve both a function purpose and can help to enhance the design.

The cutouts functionally serve to maintain a constant material thickness.

Currently the cutouts follow the silhouettes of the pieces; this serves to emphasize the organic form. In future iterations, such as on this head piece, I will edit the cutouts to suggest features on the dragon. For example, on this piece I would change the cutout from a roughly triangular shape to a shape that has triangular shapes protruding into it from the top and bottom. This will both give the dragon teeth and keep the material thicknesses down.
